If you have ever worked retail you are probably familar with the acronym POS... referring to the "Point of Sale" system, or more commonly thought of as the "checkout register".  In this story I will need you to google POS and find the "street slang" meaning if you do not already have an idea of where I am going with this.  Hey... just want to keep my stories "G rated"

A woman walks into my Retai locations with a brown paper bag and proceeds to pull out an object and slams it down on the glass top counter.  It was an telephone answering machine that she had purchased at my location earlier in the day.

She exclaimed at the top of her voice without hesitation, "This POS is not working for me!"  Being one of "quick wit", or maybe in this case "quick sarcasm", I replied back in my low keyed manner, "Oh my,  I am terribly sorry ma'am.  What is this POS not doing for you?  I will gladly help you to fix the issue"  Disclaimer:  This in NOT how I normally responded to customer issues.  I have always (well almost always) responded Professionally.

She then looked up at me in perhaps disbelief with an angry look from my response, but then the wheels inside her head must have realized that I was simply restating the issue and then she smiled and said "Thank you"
